Handmade in Farmers Branch, Texas

Textiles for homes that quietly tell a story.

Kwajelyn Atelier is a small, family-run workroom crafting bespoke drapery, linen bedding, and hand-embroidered home goods — measured, cut and stitched by our team, one order at a time.

What we do

Slow, considered craftsmanship for the modern Texan home.

From a single reupholstered reading chair to full-home window treatments, everything leaving our studio is measured on-site, sewn by hand where it matters, and finished to last a generation.

01 — Drapery

Custom Window Treatments

Pleated linen panels, motorized roman shades and layered sheers, tailored to your windows and the way your light moves through the day.

02 — Bedding

Bedding & Bath

Stonewashed linen sheeting, monogrammed duvets, and heavyweight bath sets woven in small batches from long-fiber flax.

03 — Embroidery

Hand Embroidery

Family crests, house numbers and heirloom initials, hand-stitched onto cushions, napkins, aprons and christening blankets.

04 — Upholstery

Reupholstery

New life for a grandmother's wing chair or a mid-century sofa, rebuilt with hardwood frames and eight-way hand-tied springs.

05 — Table

Table Linens

Runners, napkins and tablecloths in seasonal palettes — the kind that make a Tuesday supper feel like a small occasion.

06 — Trade

Trade & Designer Program

A dedicated workroom, transparent lead times and to-the-trade pricing for interior designers working across DFW.

Our workroom

Every seam is a small promise.

Harry Caldwell founded Kwajelyn in a converted garage off Waldeck Street in 2013, after a decade sewing curtains for restoration projects across the South. Today we're a team of five — a cutter, two seamstresses, an embroiderer and Harry, still measuring windows himself most Wednesdays.

We don't drop-ship. We don't outsource. Fabric arrives on the bolt from mills we've visited in person, and leaves our door folded in tissue with a signed care card.

  • Measured on-site — free within Dallas, Collin and Tarrant counties.
  • Long-staple linen and cotton from OEKO-TEX certified European mills.
  • Ten-year seam guarantee on every drapery and bedding order.

How we work

Four unhurried steps, from first sketch to final hem.

A well-made curtain isn't a rush job. Here is the rhythm we've settled into with clients across DFW, from a bungalow in Oak Cliff to a ranch outside Fort Worth.

01. Home visit & conversation

We come out, measure, look at your light, and talk about how the room is really used.

02. Swatch package

A curated set of 6–10 fabric options is mailed to you, along with a written proposal and firm estimate.

03. In-studio make

Cutting, sewing and pressing happens on Waldeck Street. Expect 4–7 weeks depending on scope.

04. White-glove install

We hang, steam and dress every panel in person — and take the packing away with us.

Kind words

From the homes that welcomed us in.

The linen drapery Harry made for our sunroom completely changed the way the room feels in the afternoon. Worth every penny.

— Meredith P., University Park

They rebuilt a chair that belonged to my grandmother. It came back better than I remembered it as a child.

— Danielle R., Bishop Arts

As a designer I trust Kwajelyn with my most demanding clients. Their lead times are honest and their finish is unmatched in DFW.

— Owen T., Interior Designer, Fort Worth
